However, a Dawn article published the next day says no group had claimed responsibility, and an International Crisis Group report notes no verifiable public claim at the time of writing, indicating timing or reporting discrepancies. The weight of evidence leans toward the claim being made, though not universally confirmed across all reports.

The claim appears in the TTP’s official channel and is echoed by the government, suggesting an official acknowledgment.
